Datasheet: Inductive Encoder Chip PO1020
Description:
The Inductive Encoder Chip PO1020 measures position and speed of scales, discs and gears. The encoder consists of a silicon chip in a small package and is suitable for SMD-soldering on a Printed Circuit Board. The encoder chip contains a coil that generates a high-frequency magnetic field, 4 detection coils that measure the modulated magnetic field and all the analog and digital electronics to provide well-defined A quad B encoder signals. You can find a more detailed explanation of the inductive encoder working principle on our technology page.
Encoder Chip Features:
Small size: 5 x 6 x 0.8 mm
High resolution: down to 0.02 µm
High repeatability: below 1 µm
Robust against dust, grease, oil, liquids
Immune against magnetic fields
Easy to make your own PCB-scales and -discs
Scale and disc do not attract ferrous particles or dust
Encoder Chip Applications: Position-feedback for motion control
Rotary torque motors
Linear direct drives
Piezo stages
Z-actuator in gantry system
Voice coil actuators
Wherever small size and high resolution are mandatory
