Inductive Encoder Chip for a Linear Drive

Ironless linear motors and linear direct drives have many advantages, but have one disadvantage for the integration of a position feedback device: the magnetic fields generated by the motor coils and the motor magnets may interfere with magnetic position sensors. This means that a magnetic shielding is required or that a certain distance between the drive and the sensor must be respected. The solution is an inductive encoder chip from POSICoder, which is immune against magnetic fields and can be placed between the magnets or next to the motor coils. This allows a very compact and economic integration of the position feedback in miniature linear drives.

Which encoder chip is most suited for application in linear direct drives?

The PO1020 inductive encoder chip with a wide temperature range up to 125°C, because the temperature of linear direct drives, voice coil actuators and other linear systems might rise quite strongly during operation.
